In 1996 I set out to replace the pop-up-top canvas in my friend's 1966 Westfalia Camper. When I compared the canvas from the after market parts suppliers to the original canvas pop-up-top, I was not impressed with the quality or the price.

The after market pop-tops were available only in tan and made of non-weather resistant cotton fabric. Out of frustration I decided to make a pop-up-top replacement myself. I researched and found a canvas which passed my rigorous standards, measured and compared several original Westfalia pop-up-tops to create patterns, and sewed together my first pop-up-top. After a couple of friends in my VW Bus club expressed extreme interest in ordering a pop-up-top for themselves, I decided to start my business. From then on I knew there was a dire need in the Volkswagen community for quality canvas and vinyl products for VW Buses.
